Martine Côté
Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, 1981.
Martine seeks to capture quiet beauty found in the everyday light. Her photographs carry a sense of calm and peace.
She completed her studies in saxophone at Conservatoire de musique de Québec before achieving a bachelor’s degree in business Canada and France that opened her to the world of communications where she developed a critical eye vis-a-vis the image and the message. Photography is a natural continuation.
Throughout her practice, she has developed a rigorous approach to photography, inspired by the Quebec winter landscapes of her childhood as well as works by artists who fascinate her: Rita Letendre, Jean-Paul Lemieux, Bernd and Hilla Becher.
In addition to devoting herself to her career as an artistic photographer, she has been dedicated to promoting the talents of artisans and artists by sitting on the boards of directors of non-profit organizations.
Martine lives and creates in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
