Artist: Isabelle Michaud
Le Labo – studio 277 – 401 Richmond St W
From March 13th to 18th, 2023
We are pleased to welcome Isabelle Michaud who came all the way from Sault-Sainte-Marie for the third edition of Le Cercle, from March 13 to 17, 2023.
Isabelle is a very curious artist and works in all mediums. To satisfy her desire for artistic exploration, she joins us at Le Labo for a week that she hopes will be rich in experimentation, particularly in digital art and virtual reality. She will be working under the guidance of Karen Vanderborght, a Toronto-based artist specializing in virtual and augmented reality.
Le Labo is proud to be able to transform itself into an artistic refuge for its members, from Toronto and elsewhere, and to be the creative catalyst they sometimes need.
Follow us on our social networks to get a glimpse of Isabelle’s work in progress!
Isabelle Michaud
Isabelle Michaud is a visual artist from Sault-Sainte-Marie who works to develop links between the artist, the environment and identity in an approach that is both intimate and community-based. Isabelle has received several artist grants from the Ontario Arts Council for personal and collaborative projects. Isabelle Michaud’s residency at the Sault Museum involved engaging members of the local Francophone community to map Francophone presence and cultural erasure. This residency resulted in an exhibition entitled « Une Balade à French Town / Walking French Town ».
Since November 2021, Isabelle Michaud has been working on the launch and development of her micro-gallery, Galerie Sans Clous. Seven francophone, indigenous and multicultural artists will be exhibited virtually during 2022-2023.
This program is funded by our funders: Ontario Arts Council, Heritage Canada and Toronto Art Council.
