The art market is an exciting and complex field that can often seem inaccessible to the inexperienced.
Le Labo has decided to offer a unique workshop to help understand the workings of the market, to discover the different types of dealers and trades related to art, and to navigate the different buying and selling channels. Participants will also learn about the different art styles and movements, and how they have influenced the evolution of the art market.
This workshop will be led by our artist member Candice Houtekier. Candice has a background as an associate professor at the University of French Ontario and enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge. She holds a master’s degree in Art History and certificates in cybersecurity, web design and web development. Candice is also the CEO of Art Collision, a company that manages the digital presence of people working in the art market using virtual reality to install exhibitions in the Metaverse. In 2022, she also launched Floating Point Gallery to represent Canadian artists working at the intersection of art and new technologies.
