Lights Contacts
Lights Contacts is an interactive sensory installation staging viewers. They are transformed into sonorous instruments. In a poetic way, Lights Contacts invites the spectator to question the perception of the other.
A shiny ball is placed on a woodstructure. A first person puts one’s hand on the ball. In contact with this object, the person’s body becomes sensitive and reactive to other living bodies. The installation lives when a skin’s meeting happens. Each contact generates variables sounds and lights. The various sonorous vibrations change with the proximity and intensity of contacts. At the same time, as the sound, a shelter of light shines of varied tints, above viewers’ head.
The energetic clouds of the bodies become tangible sounds. Lights Contacts creates a sensory expérience with the spectators’ bodies and overturns degrees of proximity that we use in our relationships with known or unknown being.
Each culture codifies relationships according to the sex, age or parental link. Lights Contacts reveals how these links are fragile thanks to a lighted and melodic langage.
