A native of Outaouais, Marie-Jos\u00e9e Lefebvre is a bilingual (French-English) playwright and actress based in Toronto, whose career spans over two decades in television, film, and theatre.
\nAs a screenwriter, she is recognized for her work in creating youth series and documentaries for TFO, such as Aquazette, Effet domino, La roue des animaux, and C\u2019est rigolo avec Mamie G\u00e2teau. She masters the entire screenwriting cycle, from creating bibles to coordinating writing teams and table reads. Several of her screenwriting projects, such as her feature film in development, Loup et l\u2019Ourse, and the adaptation of Au Country Road, have been supported by Telefilm, SODEC, and Radio-Canada.
\nConcurrently, Marie-Jos\u00e9e maintains an active career as an actress. On television, she has played lead roles in series such as Mission: Actualit\u00e9s, Bitten, I Was a Sixth Grade Alien, and Coroner, and recently filmed major productions including It: Welcome to Derry (HBO) and Bloody Mary for President. In theatre, she has graced the stages of Tarragon, Passe Muraille, Factory, Cahoots, and SummerWorks, where she received the Public\u2019s Choice Award for Au Country Road. She also received a Dora Award nomination. A theatre graduate of York University, she combines artistic rigor with social commitment.
