Her work, which blends art and justice, addresses topics such as gender, intimacy, physical representation, socio-legal norms affecting everyday life, permission, (im)balance, self-care, discomfort, freedom, and state power.<br \/>\nTrained in corporeal mime, Julie has presented performances, installations, and videos in Canada and internationally. They also studied law at McGill University. They are a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Barreau du Qu\u00e9bec. In 2006, they received the Law and Society Graduate Fellowship and an interdisciplinary master\u2019s degree in law and visual arts from the University of Victoria. In 2007, they won the Innovative Electronic Theses &#038; Dissertations Award for their thesis, awarded by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations consortium in Sweden. Julie co-edited the book Collision: Interarts Practice and Research in 2008. In 2014\u20132015, they were an <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20260123195825\/https:\/\/digitalcommons.osgoode.yorku.ca\/lassonde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>artist-in-residence<\/strong><\/a> at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University\u2019s law faculty. In 2022, they presented <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20260123195825\/https:\/\/7a-11d.ca\/festival_artist\/lassonde-julie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>a work at the 7a*11d festival in Toronto.<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nFrom 2015 to 2016, she served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Le Labo in Toronto.
