She directs and produces programs, television magazines, documentaries, and cinematic works that have been broadcast on CBC, CBC News Network, TVO, W, Artv, R\u00e9seau de l\u2019information (RDI), Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Radio-Canada (SRC), TFO, as well as TV One and the History Network in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Her directorial credits for the National Film Board of Canada include the documentaries Black, Bold and Beautiful, Une \u00e9cole sans fronti\u00e8res, and \u00c0 quand la justice. In 2016, her experimental short film Heartbreak was one of 20 finalists among over 1,700 submissions to the inaugural TIFFxInstagram Shorts Fest at the Toronto International Film Festival. The filmmaker is currently expanding into narrative fiction. She has directed three short films and is currently developing two feature-length fiction films, as well as Les fant\u00f4mes de la m\u00e9moire, a virtual reality experience exploring the forgotten history of slavery in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including two Chalmers Arts Fellowships and the National Screen Institute Drama Prize for the bilingual short film Entre deux\/In Between. She holds a professional degree in architecture from McGill University and has participated in the Doc Lab, Women in the Director\u2019s Chair, and National Screen Institute workshops. She was the artist-in-residence at York University\u2019s Osgoode Hall Law School for the 2015-2016 academic year and the recipient of the 2016 DGC Ontario Mentorship\u2014a program by Women in Film and Television (Toronto) and the Directors Guild of Canada.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nadine Valcin is an award-winning producer, director, and screenwriter.
