Of Haitian origin and having grown up in Quebec City and then in Iqaluit since 2014, Murielle Jassinthe is a renowned interdisciplinary artist and researcher, and a member of the Canada Research Chair in African and Francophone Literatures at Laval University, where she is pursuing her studies. Her career combines a diverse literary production (poetry, short stories, essays, theater) and a strong social commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice, notably through the co-founding of the Nunavut Black History Society and the Nunavut Theater Company.
