Our artistic choices are based on the notion of adaptability and innovation, encouraging a necessary optimism in the service of creative resilience!<\/p><cite>Dyana Ouvrard, artistic and executive director<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"> <!-- MetaSlider 9898 not found --> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">JULY 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>New! a French-language tour to celebrate all Francophone artists and visitors to the <a href=\"https:\/\/torontooutdoor.art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">Toronto Outdoor Art Fair<\/a> on Saturday, July 16 at 12:00 pm at Nathan Philips Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">JUNE 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We proudly welcome bilingual curator Jesse Cumming&rsquo;s exhibition as part of our annual partnership with Festival Images: \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/sensual-life-the-films-and-videos-of-kyoko-michishita-june-24th-to-july-16th-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Sensual Life: The Films and Videos of Kyoko Michishita (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">Sensual Life: The Films and Videos of Kyoko Michishita<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb Borrowing its title from her 1980 collection of essays in which she reflects on the state of contemporary feminism in her native Japan, \u00ab\u00a0Sensual Life: The Films and Videos of Kyoko Michishita\u00a0\u00bb is the first bilingual North American exhibition devoted to the artist, writer and translator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MAY 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday May 14th, it is around a <em>coffee-croissant<\/em> that awaits you the screening of the film \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Sph\u00e8re<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb directed by Babek Aliassa, who is also the founder of Le Labo. This film is the result of the Ontario World Tour of the artist Laurent Vaillancourt who will honor us with his presence. Legend has it that this was Labo&rsquo;s very first collaborative and interdisciplinary project\u2026 And it took the team to 19 cities in Ontario! It&rsquo;s enough to bring back fond memories and to imagine crazy projects for the future\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/exquisite-corpse-1st-edition-at-le-labo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Cadavre exquis, (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">Cadavre exquis,<\/a> this intergenerational artistic game closes the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of Le Labo and brought together Madi Piller, Samuel Choisy, Denis Taman Bradette, Murielle Jassinthe, Paul Walty, Marc Audette, Maria Legault, Marcel Grimard, Carolina Reis, Nelson Eduardo Vasquez, \u00c9veline Boudreau, Denis Leclerc, Ama Ouattara, Marc Lemyre, Jean-Christophe Foolchand, Sophie Dusmeny. Find out in the office the official publication of the 15 years <em>Qu&rsquo;est-ce que c&rsquo;est<\/em> by Thom Sokoloski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">APRIL 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In celebration of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reelcanada.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"REEL Canada (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">REEL Canada<\/a>&lsquo;s Canadian Film Day, Le Labo is hosting an exclusive film club screening at Studio 277 on April 21. This year, our choice is Tracey Deers&rsquo; multi-award-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/return-of-the-cine-club-screening-of-beans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Beans (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">Beans<\/a> (2020) to celebrate First Nations voices and the sharing of perspectives on the theme of anti-racism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MARCH 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/saison-creuse-off-season-an-exhibition-on-paper\/\">\u00ab\u00a0Off Season\u00a0\u00bb <\/a>moves to Ottawa! Le Labo is pleased to export its successful exhibition Saison Creuse in partnership with Saw Gallery, for one evening, in the Maison Rochon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FEBRUARY 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 26th, 2022, Le Labo organizes <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/mosaique-ephemere-discover-5-short-films-in-torontos-shop-windows\/\">\u00ab\u00a0Mosa\u00efque \u00c9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>. This instantaneous urban journey broadcasts 4 short films from here and elsewhere during one night in Toronto.  In honor of Black History Month, the question \u00ab\u00a0What brings us together rather than what makes us different?\u00a0\u00bb brings together the works of these 7 francophone artists. Stroll through the 4 locations of Queen Street West and Dundas West and discover at the same time francophone businesses and restaurants of our beautiful city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo presents its first virtual tour <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/la-troisieme-langue-the-third-tongue-virtual-tour\/\">\u00ab\u00a0La Troisi\u00e8me Langue \/ The Third Tongue\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>. This event of diffusion of media arts on Vucavu.com is centered around the subject of the third language \u00a0\u00bbthe one that arises from the coexistence of two languages\u00a0\u00bb. This program brings together eight short films that, in a striking, playful or sensitive way, address the issue of language or identities, particularly Francophone identities living in a linguistic minority situation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">JANUARY 2022<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo is proud to welcome <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/our-artist-in-e-residency-camille-bernard-gravel\/\">Camille Bernard-Gravel <\/a>for an E-residency from January 17th to 31st, 2022. Camille is dedicated to a multidisciplinary practice that interrelates nature and technology. She decided to create a virtual gallery to initiate the production of an installation inspired by the association between well-being and an artificial relationship to the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DECEMBER 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/saison-creuse-off-season-an-exhibition-on-paper\/\">\u00ab\u00a0Off Season\u00a0\u00bb<\/a> is a paper-based exhibition unveiled to the public at The Lab in December 2021 that explores the delicate yet insatiable ties that bind us to nature and community, even in the face of a global pandemic. Highlighting the work of eight leading francophone artists from Ontario and Canada, curator and artist Stefan St-Laurent travels a rugged terrain, during an endless season of suspended activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OCTOBER 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo is pleased to renew its collaboration with the Cin\u00e9Franco! (24th edition), as part of its Franco-Canadian short film program: <a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/courts-toujours-screening-in-partnership-with-cinefranco\/\">\u00ab\u00a0Court Toujours!\u00a0\u00bb<\/a> from October 26 to November 2, 2021. It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to (re)discover virtually (and across Canada) the works produced during the confinement of our emerging members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SEPTEMBER 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From Wednesday,<strong> September 29th to October 12th<\/strong>, 2021, Le Labo is pleased to host a preview of \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/never-grow-up-the-interactive-experience-is-coming-to-le-labo-in-september-2021\/\">Never Grow Up<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb a virtual reality exhibition by artist @imagefatale &#8211; Karen Vanderborght. \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Never Grow Up<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb is an interactive experience that invites the audience <em>to dance in a crazy rhythm game with a rather clumsy figurine made of plasticine<\/em>. The virtual reality experience aims to raise awareness of the psychological trauma that child abuse can cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo is proud to present on September 9th 2021, the event \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/live-performances-un-toronto-situationniste-prise-2\/\">Un Toronto Situationniste<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0. This performance tour will take you from place to place in the city thanks to the Toronto Driftscape application. You will be able to find happenings by French-speaking media artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SPECIAL ACTIVITIES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo organizes<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/le-labos-podcasts\/\"> podcasts<\/a> throughout the year. Come and discover the works and artists of the Labo&rsquo;s program. Discover the artists of the Franco-Ontarian gang, as well as a podcast for the Women&rsquo;s Rights Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WORKSHOPS \/ TRAININGS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo offers<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/educational-services\/\"> youth workshops<\/a>. We wish to engage with education professionals to better prepare tomorrow&rsquo;s generation for the digital challenges. That&rsquo;s why we invite you to discover our workshops in media arts and digital technologies, presented in French by our bilingual Toronto artist-trainers. <br><br>In May 2022: <em>Video production workshop<\/em> at Coll\u00e8ge Fran\u00e7ais de Viamonde Conseil Scolaire (grades 11 and 12).<br> In July 2022: Two-week <em>Making Your First Film<\/em> camp at the Alliance fran\u00e7aise de Toronto (8-10 years old).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NETWORKING<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo organizes \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/labo-reseau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"LaboReso (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">LaboReso<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb events to allow our members to get to know each other, to create links, to enlarge their network and to federate the Labo community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:10px\"><em>Please note that even in virtual format, events organized by Le Labo may be documented by photographs and videos.
