{"id":2978,"date":"2017-01-31T17:05:41","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T17:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/?p=2978"},"modified":"2017-01-31T17:06:21","modified_gmt":"2017-01-31T17:06:21","slug":"workshop-edu-the-play-of-photography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lelabo.ca\/en\/workshop-edu-the-play-of-photography\/","title":{"rendered":"THE PLAY OF PHOTOGRAPHY"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The game of photography<\/h4>\n<p>The focus of this workshop is the staging and theatricality of portrait photography.<\/p>\n<p>The proliferation of images and selfies on the Internet has blurred the notion of fiction and reality in the sense that these images are staged but are presented as snapshots of real life. These constructed and orchestrated realities take place in the collective unconscious and give us a limited or even distorted view of the world.<\/p>\n<p>As an amusing exercise, this workshop will cover the game of photography and the connection between photographer and subject, between exposure and concealment. At the end of the workshop students will have a different view of the images they consume and will acquire tools to better read between the pixels of photographs.<\/p>\n<p>Here are six different activities that might be explored during a session:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Image reading<\/li>\n<li>Selfie analysis<\/li>\n<li>Exploration of the body in space<\/li>\n<li>Role-playing and improvisation<\/li>\n<li>Facial expressions<\/li>\n<li>Composition, framing and shots<\/li>\n<li>Position and shots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Age group: elementary, secondary, post-secondary and adult.
