We are making our studio available for a week and organizing visits with curators and peers. In short, a space for feedback to feed the artist&rsquo;s creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel Choisy is the first francophone artist from Toronto to test this new concept. He uses photography as a platform for play and expression, and as a generator of surprises. He plays with photography&rsquo;s ability to reveal what hides from the viewer: movement, psychic emotion, the inner essence of things. His exploration work which develops around the etymology of the word photography (drawing\/painting with light) throws bridges towards other media such as painting, sculpture, sound and video in order to offer a singular approach of the idea of \u200b\u200blandscape in connection with identity and subjectivity in immersive installation proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Labo is a space for artistic experimentation and production in the field of media arts, interdisciplinarity and digital art. Otherwise known as le Laboratoire d&rsquo;Art, it is Toronto&rsquo;s only artist-run center and Ontario&rsquo;s only francophone media arts and new media production center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support the unique sensibilities and realities of Francophone culture, Le Labo cultivates multiple activities with a focus on research, innovation, collaboration and training. In addition to access to a beautiful incubator space at 401 Richmond and professional equipment, its programming includes residencies, workshops and talks, as well as screenings and exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of the 2022-2025 programming are to welcome francophone artistic creation in the GTA and to bring together, in the same space, places of learning and artistic expression as a springboard to the future.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel Choisy <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel Choisy is a visual artist who uses photography as a platform for play and expression, and as a generator of surprises. He is the recipient of the 2016 Chamlers Arts Fellowship and other grants from the Ontario and Canada Arts Council.
