Denis Taman Bradette is an artist and educator based in Toronto and Northeastern Ontario, near Cochrane. Denis completed his Master of Visual Arts in 2013 at the University of Ottawa, with works that expressed his interests and explorations related to the elements, time, autobiography, and the Anthropocene. Denis participated in the Ontario Arts Council’s Artist in Educational Settings program for several years. He presented mixed-media art projects at the elementary level, focusing on autobiography and ecology. Denis is currently working on two artistic and educational projects: climate change awareness through art for children and youth, called “The Way-Station.” This project is based in Cobalt, Northeastern Ontario, and Toronto. The second initiative is a gallery and cultural production project (online and in Toronto called “Sa_te_lit”). Denis volunteers by leading weekly art workshops at a local homeless shelter in Toronto. He is also a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers, with over twenty years of teaching experience in the public school systems of Ontario and Quebec.
