Hanane is a French-speaking director and screenwriter based in Toronto, Canada. As a self-taught emerging artist of Algerian origin and a member of a visible minority, she is driven by the desire to tell stories that reflect her personal feelings about social issues and the perspective of the “other”. In her fiction work, Hanane draws inspiration from her own experience and those of the people she meets. In documentary, she seeks to move and inspire viewers through the characters and their lived experiences, exploring hidden and taboo realities and sparking
reflection and emotion. Her goal is to create accessible, impactful work that transcends indifference and inspires thought.
