Ronald Loranger

Ron Loranger is a Franco-Ontarian artist, originally from Kapuskasing, who has lived in Toronto for several years. The Blobettes, or Blobs, are certainly his most well-known works: they have been exhibited in various galleries in Canada and abroad, and frequently reappear in Ron’s work. Ovoid and abstract circles, sometimes minimalist, often colorful, the Blobettes, created with watercolor and India ink, can take on various meanings, such as floating islands in the middle of the ocean, or planets orbiting an unexplored galaxy, or even juxtaposed on less abstract drawings to give them a certain depth, a new meaning.
