Thom Sokoloski

Thom Sokoloski trained and worked in New York and Paris during the early 1970s, focusing on experimental theatre and performance at institutions such as La MaMa ETC, L’École Jacques Lecoq, and the Polish Lab Theatre. His work has been presented internationally across Europe and North America, including at the Edinburgh and Avignon Fringe Festivals. Upon returning to Canada in the late 1970s, he co-founded The Theatre Centre, the Native Theatre School, and Autumn Leaf Performance, where he directed and produced plays and operas by leading authors and composers. In 2004, he shifted his focus toward public art and site-specific installations, receiving commissions from institutions such as Nuit Blanche Toronto, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, and the Socrates Sculpture Park.
