Eco-responsible Weekend at Le Labo

Eco-responsible weekend focusing on curatorial practices

These eco-responsible workshops for the Toronto exhibition, developed in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Curating and the FOFA Gallery, invite participants to rethink materials, methods, and curatorial approaches through concrete examples and accessible experimentation.

Friday, March 13 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
The first workshop, Student Focus: Rethinking Exhibitions with Sustainable Materials, introduces simple and ecological techniques, ranging from designing paper labels to using natural glues and sustainable signage solutions. Click the registration button at the top of the page to register for this workshop.

Saturday, March 14 – 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
The second, Rethinking the Exhibition: Materials, Methods, and Curatorial Ecology, deepens these reflections with a presentation by artist Tania Love, who explores plant-based inks and dyes. Register for this workshop.

Conceived as a space for exchange, the weekend allows for sharing practices, asking questions, and considering concrete alternatives for a more environmentally respectful artistic future.

Tania Love

Tania Love is a Toronto-based artist whose work evolves from a relationship with place, matter, and a connection with nature. She works with botanical inks and dyes, as well as casein-based paint and pigments, employing various processes including cyanotype. Her choice of materials and the materiality of her work emphasize tactility and invite reflection on cycles of fragility and growth. A Fine Arts graduate of the University of Guelph, Tania has received numerous grants, notably the Chalmers Fellowships, and residencies, and has exhibited her work both in Canada and abroad.
