It took an artist capable of seeing the potential of a tiny space to launch this new program!
For some time now, Le Labo’s team has been envisioning an exhibition setup that could exist beyond the studio’s opening hours. A space accessible at any time to showcase the work of our member artists, even by chance when passing through the corridors of 401 Richmond. With the installation of a permanent micro-gallery, this wish finally becomes a reality! Thanks to Urban Space Gallery for their collaboration.
To inaugurate this new space, Le Labo invited Ron Loranger, a key figure in the Franco-Ontarian art scene!
Ron Loranger rarely works on commission, preferring to let his research follow its own pace.
For Kylie, however, he agreed to take on the challenge and create a work specifically for this setting. Made with watercolor and ink on Arches paper, true to his approach, Kylie organically shows us figures and images not so far from our daily and pop culture references.
Our micro-gallery will host, throughout the seasons, interventions specially designed for this unique space, work-in-progress, and more.
The micro-gallery is accessible free of charge, at all times, at 401 Richmond Street West, Toronto, second floor, at the back of the corridor of studio 277.
