Diane Montreuil

Métis Algonquin visual artist, educator, and curator. She holds the position of Art and Culture at the NMDC – Métis Nation of Canada, where she has served on the board of directors in the Art and Culture section since 2016.

In 2019, Diane was appointed by the TCDSB (Toronto Catholic District School Board) as Knowledge Keeper/Elder in Residence and a member of the Indigenous Advisory Council. She has also collaborated with various schools in Greater Toronto since 2018, speaking about Indigenous culture and teaching art classes.

Diane’s works have been exhibited in various art galleries and exhibitions in Toronto and Ottawa from 2017 to the present. Diane’s works are currently distributed in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Diane uses art as a communication tool for healing, bringing to life the knowledge from the teachings of our Grandmothers/Elders.
