Marthe Lenoir

Born in France in ’99, Marthe began painting and participated in extracurricular theater at a young age. Expatriated to Canada at age 10, she grew up in Ottawa and continued to paint, leading to her first commission. In high school, her film courses made her realize that film sets were where she wanted to be. She moved to Lyon (France) to complete a bachelor’s degree in Directing and Staging, then worked as a project manager in a production agency for over 2 years, while accumulating independent shoots for short films or music videos where she acted as script supervisor, DP, or director. It was also at the beginning of her career that she held her first solo painting exhibition. Now based in Toronto, Marthe is expanding her practice as a media artist by directing her first medium-length documentary, exhibiting her canvases in various institutions in Ontario, and working for different French-language theater companies in translation or stage management.
