Martine Côté

Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, in 1981.

Martine seeks to capture the quiet beauty found in everyday light. Her photographs convey a sense of calm and serenity.

She completed her saxophone studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec before earning a bachelor’s degree in business in Canada and France, which opened her up to the world of communications, where she developed a critical eye with regard to image and message. Photography is a natural continuation.

Throughout her practice, she has developed a rigorous approach to photography, inspired by the Quebec winter landscapes of her childhood as well as by the works of artists who fascinate her: Rita Letendre, Jean-Paul Lemieux, Bernd and Hilla Becher.

In addition to dedicating herself to her career as an artistic photographer, she has been committed to promoting the talents of artisans and artists by serving on the boards of directors of non-profit organizations.

Martine lives and creates in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
