Saïda Ouchaou-Ozarowski

Saïda lives in Toronto, but it was on the West Coast that she fully embraced her passion for documentary filmmaking and directing. Starting with Pluri’Elles, she gave a voice to Francophone women from the Global South to recount the realities of immigration with finesse and humanity. Her exploration of cultural richness and the evolution of Canadian society can be found in Demain, nous parlerons tous chinois. Her latest film, À pleine voix, produced by the NFB, deconstructs the prejudices surrounding women of Muslim cultures in the country. Migration, plural identities, and the female condition form the common thread of a committed, sensitive body of work deeply focused on life stories. Saïda is currently working on a fiction project, a series titled: Pourquoi y a-t-il autant de Français au Canada?
