Ishyaka

Ishyaka

“Ishyaka: The Will to Live” is a screening and discussion around Joseph Bitamba’s documentary. The film addresses the Rwandan genocide, the reconciliation of victims and perpetrators, and the path Rwanda has taken to rebuild. Through the Gacaca courts, reconciliation villages, and peace efforts, the documentary examines a society seeking to live differently after violence. The event provides an opportunity to discuss history, memory, justice, and the possibility of a shared future.
