The Fox Sisters of the 21st Century

The Fox Sisters of the 21st Century

Jenn E. Norton’s new installation is presented following a one-month residency. With “The Fox Sisters of the 21st Century,” the artist plays with anachronisms by creating an intimate, interactive space in which the Fox sisters are reborn as directors of a multimedia apparatus. The work merges contemporary video technologies with pre-cinematic techniques associated with Victorian spiritualism. It draws a parallel between a hidden feminism of the past and contemporary forms of emancipated speech.
