Writing Residency “Médium Béluga” | Laura Bergeron

In partnership with Moi&Dave, Le Labo is hosting Laura Bergeron’s Médium Béluga writing residency, taking place from September 23 to 28, providing a space for reflection and development of the final version of her fiction feature film.

This residency allows the director and her producers to prepare the pitch and presentation text for the film, selected for the Rencontres de Coproduction Francophone in Montreal. It is part of an artistic consolidation and distribution process.

On September 26 starting at 6:30 PM, a conversation with Le Labo members will allow Laura Bergeron to gather feedback on her work and engage with the audience.

Médium Béluga tells the story of Céleste, a shy aquarium employee who believes she can communicate with a solitary beluga whale. As their relationship becomes unsettling, she is confronted with a complex family past.

A graduate of Toronto Film School, Laura Bergeron is a screenwriter and director. She is currently developing several projects for film and television, including this first feature film.
