The new installation of Jenn E. Norton will be exhibited at Le Laboratoire d’Art upon the completion of her month long residency. With « 21st Century Fox Sisters », Norton has built an interactive space where the Fox sisters, famous mediums of the 19th Century, are re-imagined as producers and directors of a multi-media spectacle. By imposing the past upon the present with women who lend their bodies to spirits to hold a captive audience. Using pre-cinema technologies used in phantasmagoric displays of the Victorian era with contemporary video, Norton draws parallels between covert feminism of the past and today.
