Submission on Google Form
For Le Labo and FRIC members only
Le Labo is very proud to resume its mentoring program for our members thanks to our partnership with le FRIC. Together, we are receiving applications for the “Plan-sequence” project which supports the development of audiovisual works within French-speaking minority communities in Canada. It offers directors from these communities creative support as well as new opportunities for development, networking and meetings, particularly with the Quebec film and audiovisual sector. Each successful candidate benefits from individual mentoring, in the form of pairing with one or more cinema and audiovisual professionals selected by the National Institute of Image and Sound based on expressed needs. This mentoring takes place over several weeks in order to have continuous support to advance your project from February 2024.
Founded in 2006, Le Labo is a place of artistic production in the field of media arts, interdisciplinarity and digital technology. It is the only French-speaking artist-run center in Toronto. Our “Art Laboratory” aims to be a space for experimentation, creation, resources and support for our members and artists. Apart from the notions of artistic success and productivity, we would like to collectively contribute to the rest of the Lab and its community, so that all the seeds of ideas planted, with time, bring us their fertile fruits of diversity. What’s better to prepare for the future? Founded in 2004, the Front of Independent Directors of Canada (FRIC) is a professional association bringing together artist directors working in the Canadian Francophonie. It meets three needs: representing its members politically and culturally; encourage exchanges between its members and other players in media production; work for the professional development and influence of its members.
Interested artists must submit, among other things:
- A letter of intent
- A descriptive sheet of the project
- An up-to-date CV An up-to-date filmography
- Two extracts of your creations not exceeding a total of 10 minutes
Interested artists must pay the $200 registration fee to FRIC. The only way to submit a file is through this single form no later than December 18, 2023 at midnight (Eastern time): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSceuzmVWIKO5rGFzBdSt2tOftiCh1EDhOy_ivXY2aoRcEcGUg/viewform
