Bio
Jacquelyn Hébert‘s is an interdisciplinary artist whose work stems from an interest in historical, cultural and imagined narratives. Her recent artistic focus deals with the complexity of Canadian and Franco-Canadian identities. She is interested in the spaces between cultural expectations and the reality of lived experience. With these works, Hébert seeks to challenge perceptions of what identity means and how memory and nostalgia play a part in understanding who we are. Hébert’s main focus is installation and experimental documentary. She also seeks to explore how digital media can intersect with the hand-made, found or obsolete.
