LE LABO, PARTNER OF TELEFILM CANADA’S “TALENTS EN VUE” PROGRAM
Designated partners panel
As part of Telefilm Canada’s « Talent en vue » program, Le Labo will once again be selecting emerging filmmakers from the Franco-Ontarian community to submit to Telefilm Canada.
The program supports emerging filmmakers in the production, digital distribution and promotion of a first feature film or an audiovisual narrative project in another format designed specifically for digital distribution.
In this seventh year of collaboration, we are recommended for the selective component of the Official Language Minority Communities (OLMC) program.
WHO CAN APPLY?
To submit an application, the filmmaker must be :
– Professional or Connoisseur member of Le Labo
– Francophone or Francophile
– Emerging creators, i.e. have produced and/or directed and/or scripted: a short film (30 minutes or less), a Web production, television content, commercials, music videos.
- It is no longer necessary to have an incorporated company to apply for funding under this program. However, if the project is selected, the team will have to incorporate in order to sign the Telefilm financing contract;
- Teams wishing to apply to the Designated Partners component must now submit their application directly to Telefilm Canada, enclosing the partner’s letter of recommendation. Le Labo will get back to you no later than April 23, to give you time to submit your application on the Telefilm (Dialogue) website by the April 30 deadline.
It is the filmmaker’s responsibility to submit his or her file on the Telefilm Canada (Dialogue) website in the section reserved for designated partners once he or she has been selected by Le Labo. The purpose of applying to Le Labo is to obtain a letter of recommendation for submission to the designated partners section.

At Le Labo, we recognize that the arts programming system perpetuated over the years has disproportionately harmed and continues to harm society’s most marginalized people, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, people of color, working-class people, women and LGBTQ+ people. Because we believe that these communities must be at the heart of our reality, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or from other marginalized communities. Candidates who have difficulty providing the requested material in the suggested form can contact the team at programmation@lelabo.ca and we will take appropriate steps to submit a file.
USEFUL INFORMATION
• To proceed with your application, please read the downloadable Program Guidelines before contacting Le Labo ;
• It is important to note that Le Labo is the only recommender for Franco-Ontarian filmmakers. This means that we do not accept English-language submissions, nor submissions from other provinces ;
• To avoid duplication, projects that have already been submitted to another recommender will not be accepted by Le Labo.
