Le Labo offers a video performance workshop taught by Belinda Campbell, a multidisciplinary artist who skillfully expresses herself through video, performance, drawing, sound making or even poetry. She studied at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) where she graduated with a Master Degree in Visual and Media Arts, in 2006.
Since then, Belinda’s work has been exhibited in several Art Centers in Quebec such as Dare-Dare and Optica in Montreal or Axeneo7 Gallery in Gatineau.
Le Labo is thrilled to welcome this accomplished Visual Artist in its Studio and host her workshop on Video Performance over the course of a weekend.
This workshop is geared towards practitioners of the performing arts or anyone interested in it (performers, dancers, actors…)
It will explore the intricate links between video and performance. Participants will create a performance for the camera itself, which will become the spectator. The actual footage captured will become Art in its own right as opposed to an archiving tool.
Participants are invited to bring their own video recording devices if they so choose: camcorder, video-enabled camera, tripod, laptop.
