Le Labo is a place of gathering, a place for emotions, a place for learning the arts in French in Toronto/Tkaronto « where the trees take root in the water » on the traditional territories of the First Nations. They lend us their land on which we have the privilege to live and work.
The treaty signed for the land we are currently on is the Toronto Purchase Treaty which includes the territories of the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Credit River Mississaugas, and the Métis Nation. At Le Labo we want to tell the stories that we try to erase, forget and even deny. It is in particular, by giving voice to these artists that we repair the truth, heal and, perhaps one day, reconcile.
Our values: friendliness, rigor, fairness and exploration.
