This workshop offers advanced training for amateur software users and introduces new ways for correcting and processing images, for an efficient and more professional end result. Effective tools and techniques for manipulation and organization will also be presented to better address the common problems and challenges of digital photography.

ARDUINO WORKSHOP

SATURDAY JUNE 8TH from 11-6pm (including a 1h break) AND
SUNDAY JUNE 9TH from 10-1pm.

A 9-hour long workshop presented in two parts (June 8th/9th) on the creation of interactive projects with Arduino. This workshop includes the microcontroller and the Arduino software, permitting one to integrate motors, sensors, lights, video, infrared sensors and music in the same interactive project.

OBJECTIVES AND CONTENT:

– To familiarize oneself with the Arduino interface and the microcontrollers.

– The use of a computer to control a physical and electronic environment.

Workshop – Archiving for Artists: Video and Photographic materials

This workshop is intended to provide artists with an introduction to preserving vidéo and photographic media. Participants will learn about preservation standards, terminlogy, resources and archival best practices. The session will focus on how artists can care for their own artwork at home and in the studio.

– About the construction of video and photographic media (anolague and digital)
– How to identify deterioration and inherent instabilities

This workshop is for those who already have a basic knowledge of Abode Illustrator, and would like to improve their knowledge of vector illustration and learn how to use it for digital, printed or animated imaging. Illustrator offers a wide array of graphic design possibilities such as logos, icons, technical drawing and complex imaging – it is therefore quite different from the regular photo editing software.

Olivier Bosson graduated from Le Fresnoy, National Studio of Contemporary Arts in 2004. Since then his work has moved back and forth between performance and film. Central to his work is the problematization presented by the intersection of both these mediums, an issue Bosson explored in a published essay, entitled L’échelle 1:1. pour les performances conférences et autres live (Ed. La riponne).

This workshop is designed for intermediate-level film editors familiar with similar applications such as Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, Sony Vegas and similar application tools. This four-hour long workshop on the new interface, the basic functionalities and the program’s methodology will use numerous examples to further clarify the participants’ understanding.
