LE LABO – An outpost on the frontier of new media art, we are a place of innovation which encourages the artistic development of its artists.

Created in 2004, this artist-run centre unique in Ontario offers numerous services to its members, such as training and professional workshops, as well as possibilities for participation in different projects.

A hub of diffusion– Le Labo also offers original exhibitions of francophone artists to discover throughout the year.

The works in Generation Dissemination originate from gestures taking place in sites beyond the gallery during the dates of the exhibition. Documentation of these gestures will be added to the gallery as it is produced.

Manuel Chantre is an internationally renowned digital artist. His performances and immersive installations combine music, programming, video, audio art, light and interactivity. His latest projects have focused on video projections and lighting techniques that create narrative “choreographies” conceived for three-dimensional audio-visual devices.

The artistic proposition is running during three nights, audience is free to attend one or all performances.

As media arts centre promoting creation and production, Le Labo has decided to modernize its equipment.
As of November 17th, Le Labo members can use two new stations: one for imaging (photo editing and graphic design) and one for HD video editing.

Lights Contacts is an interactive sensory installation staging viewers. They are transformed into sonorous instruments. In a poetic way, Lights Contacts invites the spectator to question the perception of the other.
